Mrs. Sheri DeJaynes — Assistant Principal

Mrs. Sheri DeJaynes began her career in education in 2003 after receiving her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Greenville College in southern Illinois. She first taught in the Metro Nashville area for three and a half years before heading back to her hometown of Greenville. Mrs. DeJaynes then spent her next six years as a first grade teacher and assisted in starting up the RTI program at the local elementary school. During her time in Greenville, she went on to achieve her Masters in Reading in 2009.
In 2013, Mrs. DeJaynes returned to the greater Nashville area and taught at LaVergne Lake Elementary School. She graduated in 2018 with a specialist degree in Accountability and Instructional Leadership. She served as a teacher, interventionist, and coach during her time at LLE. Mrs. DeJaynes was then hired as the first academic reading coach at Plainview Elementary the spring of 2021. Alongside her role of instructional coach, she worked beside admin to help create the principles, ideals, and vision of what Plainview is known to be.
Mrs. DeJaynes has been married since 2002 to her husband, Luke. They have three children - Tyler, Elliana, and Olivia. She enjoys spending her free time with family, friends, serving at the Experience Community Church, and working out at Garage Barre and Bike. As the assistant principal at Plainview Elementary, she is excited to continue to build on the excellence established in Plainview and work to further the mission of educating all. She is extremely grateful and honored to assist Dr. Sturm as they serve the Plainview community.
